Today's blog is different from the other posts, it is about the music. I love listing to the music especially Rock music, I listen to American bands and also Japanese Rock bands. For me music always have been important thing for my life, I think music has special power that let us be emotional. For instance, when we are sad we listen to the music that makes us feel better. For instance, I truly think Amazing Grace can heal people and move people's feeling by listing.

However, this time it is not about the Amazing Grace. It is about my favorite Rock band and my feeling about the music; 2days before (May 24) Paul Gray who was the Slipknot's bass guitar player passed away. I saw this article yesterday and I was shocked, I have been big fan of Slipknot long time and I just when to their live concert 2 years before when they came to Japan. I just cannot believe it.

For me Slipknot's music was one way to calm myself. When I was sad, I listen to their music, when I was happy I listen to their music. Lots of people say that there music is too loud and violent but I think it is matter of the taste and how we interoperate. I think there music is the most amazing and emotional music that I have listen to it.

Through this event, I rethink about how music can influence people and have great role in our life.

Amazing Grace

Addition to the last blog post I want to talk more about the Amazing Grace.

Amazing Grace is very special songs that even it is church song, it was on the top 10 of the billboard. Also, it is used in movies, TV series, and even in radio.

Looking more deeply at the Amazing Grace there are slight difference of meaning of the song between the nationality and the race of the people.

In the class we discuss that lots of African American people tend to like the 3rd verse of the lyrics; 3rd verse is "I have already come; Tis grace has brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home". This phrase can be referring to the African American people's history and the joy to the transformation that slowly the world is making.

In the contrary, American people tend to like first verse "That sav'd a wretch like me! I one was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now see". This verse metaphor is used, for instance ''lost" and "found" can be used for literally lost and found for place and things, but in this phrase it is used for saving the persons heart.

Japanese people and reigion

This term I am taking 3 religion class, Religion and Art, Fundamental of Religion, and the Indian Philosophy. In this 3 class there are lots of details that overlap, for instance myth about important religion such as Navaho myth, the concept of the sacred, and other. However, these few weeks in Religion and Art class we are looking at the influence of the sacred music to people; furthermore how the music can transform people and what role music takes in the religion.

There is lots of holy music; however we are looking at the Amazing Grace. I personally think Amazing Grace is the most famous sacred song. Also, Amazing Grace is known by all the people all over the world; even non Christian and people who do not have any concern about religion also know the song.

Amazing Grace was made by John Newton who was the slave dealer and changes himself to the Christian follower. This song was written by Catholic man, however lots of people says it is more for protestant peoples song. This song has been sung by lots of people and never for gotten.

My fist post!

This is my first blog post! I am going to post new article every week, this blog is for my university's hypermedia class. Before getting to the main point I am full Japanese and am learning English at Sophia University. Hence, my English not good, but I am going to try to improve my writing and level of my English through this class.

In this blog I am going to write about religion, which is my major in my university. The reason why I choose religion as my major are, first of all I did not have any knowledge about the religion. I think most of Japanese people do not really care about their religion and the beliefs. However, I had been grown up outside of the Japan, hence I had a chance to see other country's religion and peoples attitude toward religion which was totally different compare to Japanese people. Therefore, I became very curious about the religion and decide to study in university.

From next post, I want to share about the religions. At the same time I also want to read other peoples blog and learn and gain knowledge about this topic.
